OVER $34,000 RAISED IN THE FIGHT AGAINST DMD 〰️

DAY-OF SPECIFICS

  • Check-in for the 17.9 Stroll, Half 79er, 79 Challenge and 158 Ultra will occur on the day of the event. Please come at least a half hour before your start time to check-in. When you check-in we will also make sure your waiver is signed, and you will get your swag bag. Look for a check-in table, which will be near the main pavilion.

For the 158 Ultra check-in, we can also accomodate a night before check-in request, but rider needs to make such request at least two days before event.

  • When you check-in, you will receive your swag bag/goodies/event day items that correspond with your donation level.

  • 158 Ultra: 6:00am

    79 Challenge: 9:00am

    Half 79er: 10:30am

    17.9 Mile Stroll: 11:30am

Figuring out start times for multiple different distance rides can be challenging. We have opted for staggered start times, with the hopes that riders will finish around the same time and get to enjoy the post-ride reception with one another.

To be sure, these start times are only the suggested start times, but riders can leave really whenever they want, unless you are racing this event and wish to compete for the Winner Medal (in which case you would want to start at designated start time and/or join KKD GRAVEL Strava group, which can be joined HERE).

  • The post-ride reception will start around 1:30. This will take place around the main pavilion.

There will be picnic tables, but it’s a park and so feel free to bring a blanket or comfy lawn chairs.

The live music will be up and going by or before 1:30.

We will have free pizza for riders at the finish.

There will also be free beer, water, soda, sparkling water, and pretzels available throughout the reception.

Look for the bagger and cribbage boards, bocce, and maybe a frisbee or two. Hang out, have a free slice and drink, and enjoy the live music.

Also check in with the status of the raffle and silent auction (auction and raffle items can be viewed HERE.)

Make sure to take a picture with your bike in front of the Kasners Kick Duchenne Banner.

Meet some people you didn’t know before.

And have a most excellent time!

The reception will go until 5:30ish, and maybe longer depending on how things go.

While the primary post-ride reception will end around 5/5:30, a select few will stick around until all riders have finished, including the Ultra finishers. To be sure, there will be free pizza and beer for the ultra finishers (the pizza may be cold, though).

  • When you finish, make sure to get a picture of you and your bike in front of the Kasners Kick Duchenne banner at the pavilion. Your support in the fight against Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and accomplishing this ride should be documented! Also, we’d love to see and share the photos.

  • 1:30 to 5:30pm.

We are still looking for our musician for this year’s event. As many of you know from prior years, whomever we pick will be most excellent. Check back to see who we select!

  • Like we did last year, we will have free pizza for our riders as they come in. To help with its cost, we will have pizza-donation jars.

Eat as much pizza as you like, as we’ll have a steady flow being delivered regularly by our sponsor Pizza Man.

We will also have multiple coolers full of free beer and water for riders afterward, as well as some soda and sparkling water. The beer has generously been donated by our sponsor College City Beverage. We will have Michelob Ultra and Summit Triumphant IPA. You are also welcome to bring anything different that you may want (must be in cans).

There’s also free pretzels to assist with hydration. Please help yourself.

And at the aid station, there will be snacks and water as well.

  • This year we are not doing a food truck, but rather delivered pizza. We received much positive feedback last year about the pizza. And don’t worry we’ll have plenty, as we space out our large orders such that deliveries occur when riders come in.

  • *2025 raffle and silent auction items will be updated as we get closer to the event. Information below from last year, though, is still pertinent for this year*

Right away — A huge thank you to all our sponsors who have donated all kinds of cool products for the event! I want to buy them all.

To be sure, all proceeds go to Kasners Kick Duchenne and Flanigan Labs at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

This year we are having both a silent auction and raffle!

All items for the silent auction and raffle can be viewed on our auction page HERE

Auction items will be at the event, though anyone can bid, including people who are not at the event. So keep an eye on your bids! The auction will close at 1:00pm, and so you may have to pull over and put your last second bids in while on your bike!

As to the raffle items, those items will be at the event too, but only event participants have a chance at winning them. The items for the raffle will be setup very early, before the Ultra riders leave. All riders should complete their raffle selections before they leave for their ride, as we intend to pick the winning tickets when you are out riding

You need to be present to claim your raffle item wins. AND REMEMBER TO PUT ONE TICKET IN THE BIN WHILE KEEPING THE OTHER HALF SO THAT YOU KNOW WHAT YOU WON! When you return from your ride, the winning tickets will be taped to the items. If your partner ticket matches the winning ticket, you win.

So bring some money (or Venmo), buy some raffle tickets, select what goodies you want to put your tickets towards, go ride, and come back and see about the cool stuff you won.

All gold-level donating riders will be getting a set amount of free raffle tickets in their swag bag with option to purchase more. Remainder of riders can purchase raffle tickets at event.

  • Pre-sold event shirts will be handed out to the riders who purchased them during rider check-in. We have a few extra shirts from this year and will be selling them at the event for 25.00. We also have a few extra shirts from last year, which we will be selling at the event for 15.00.

  • I love the idea of riders hanging out, eating, drinking, listening to live music, relaxing, chatting, and playing bagger or cribbage. We’ll have some yard and other games around for you to use if you want.

  • For the Ultra riders, if you are unable to get in before the food truck and live music leave (around 5:30), we will have speakers playing music for you and free pizza to fill those voids. There will also be plenty of free beer and pretzels for you. Make sure to get a picture in front of the Kasners Kick Duchenne banner (even if dark), and Nora and I look forward to having a beer with you and hearing all about your very long ride.

  • Like last year, the incredibly talented Benny Moreno will be shooting this event. See our 2022, 2023, and 2024 event photos tabs for more info. If for whatever reason you don’t want your photo used by us next year, please feel free to email us requesting the same.

  • In the days after the event, we ask that you post a photo or two to social media giving the event a shout out, to tell a friend how much fun you had (because you will have fun), to educate/tell one new person about Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

  • We have a long list of amazing sponsors. Take some time to look them over, internalize them, and please use their services or products in the future as a thank you for their support of this event.
