KKD GRAVEL
Welcome to the Third Annual Kasners Kick Duchenne (KKD) gravel bike ride! Glad you’re here to ride and support the fight again Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy!
The Kasner family have two young boys diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. This ride is intended to raise awareness and money for research to fight this terrible disease for the Kasner boys and others who battle Duchenne, a rare genetic and eventually fatal disease.
Your tax-deductible registration directly helps in the fight against Duchenne.
There are four distances for this gravel bike ride, based around the number 79, which is a number that is significant in the Duchenne community —
17.9 MILE STROLL (17.88 miles w/ 454 ft of elevation)
HALF 79ER (44.3 miles w/ 1385 ft of elevation)
79 MILE CHALLENGE (80.46 miles w/ 3410 ft of elevation)
158 ULTRA ENDURANCE (161.99 miles w/ 5210 ft of elevation )
All distance rides start and stop at the Rambling River Park, which is thirty minutes south of the Twin Cities. Staggered start times from 6am through 11am. Routes will explore the gravel roads of Dakota, Rice, Le Sueur and Scott Counties, depending on your chosen distance. The gravel roads for these routes are unique in their familiarity, challenging, and you’ll love riding them.
There will be live music, a food truck, drinks, giveaways, a raffle and other good stuff. To ride in the event, a donation is requested.
All proceeds from this event, including your registration, go directly to the Flanigan Lab at Nationwide Children's Hospital, which is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that Kasners Kick Duchenne have partnered with for this event. The Flanigan Lab at Nationwide Children's will use your donated money on the Duchenne frontline researching for a cure. ALL DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE.
As organizer, neighbor and friend of the Kasners who has taken part in a number of different organized bike rides, I can think of few-if-any more caring and generous groups than the biking community.
Can't wait to see you all there showing your support for this brave family!
